Daniel came to Mount Anville Secondary School to speak to our 5th Year cohort as part of our ‘Minding my Mind’ week in October 2018. Daniel captured the interest of the students with his engaging, relevant and age-appropriate presentation, with a delivery that was charismatic and thought-provoking. Daniel kept the students mentally engaged by continuously including them in his presentation through questioning and asking for their contributions. The presentation educated students on signs of mental ill-health, coping strategies on how to deal with having off-days, advice on how to help a friend/family member who seems to be struggling, and information on where to go for more help if needed. We loved the emphasis Daniel put on the importance of physical activity in contributing to overall wellbeing and how closely intertwined physical and mental health are. The students were given practical, easy to remember take-home strategies which they can use daily to make sure they are being self-aware and taking care of their wellbeing, e.g. "Core 4" and 5,4,3,2,1 awareness/mindfulness activity. Daniel's presentation was not only beneficial for the students but also for the members of staff who attended. I would highly recommend Daniel as a keynote speaker for adults, teenagers and children in relation to any physical activity/mental health/wellbeing topic. His passion and love for this topic and people is genuine, which is obvious from the moment he speaks!” -

Daniel’s HIIT classes are my absolute favourite.. Before he started at my gym I would only do the 30 minute classes as I never liked the extra 15 minutes! I now always try and go to his 45 minute ones as he keeps it fun, interesting and always gets me in the red zone without fail! I always feel like I have done a satisfying workout.. He is excellent at explaining the exercises, always giving you regressions and progressions options with each station. "When I first arrived at Daniels HIIT class I assumed it was going to be the same thing as all the other generic classes I had been too. But I was quick to realise that it was different. The intensity and energy he brought to the class caught everyone’s attention from the get go and I knew I needed to up my game. Speaking clearly and concisely he demonstrated all the exercises that would be included in the class and set high expectations to make every rep count and focus on form not just simply going through the motions. Daniel pushes everyone including himself to get the most out of a 45 minute class. Not only does he have a killer playlist but also he makes sure there’s room for a bit of craic too as long as you’re not slacking on the workout. “Daniel visited our school in May 2018 as part of our Mental Health Awareness week. He took the time to speak to all of our year groups (approx. 1200 students) in turn. Each group was captivated by what Daniel had to say. His presentation was engaging, active and extremely relevant to the students, and his enthusiasm, energy and positivity is infectious. Though our week was focused mostly on Mental Health, Daniel showed how caring for our wellbeing overall was the first step to positive mental health. His honesty with regard to his own experiences was inspiring. It really struck a chord with all who heard him speak. He gave genuine, simple advice to students to help them care for their wellbeing. "My experience of DTWellbeing is a happy one. I went to Daniel nervous to ask for help with training and I was instantly put at ease. As we spoke about my targets for the program, it was clear that they would be achievable as clearly he is very well educated and I also knew I'd feel comfortable regardless of my ability of training with him. First impression is just that he's a nice guy. Over time I became very comfortable around him and enjoyed spending an hour training with him. The training was very focused to exactly what I wanted and he also gave me multiple little hacks to make things easier for myself. What makes DTWellbeing different and makes it head and shoulders above any other PT service I've ever heard of, is Daniel's genuine interest in you as a person, your interests and your mental health. I would feel comfortable, even now having finished a program with him, talking to him about personal issues, stuff I probably wouldn't talk about in another situation with anyone.
