Talk-Therapy

Talk-therapy, often called ‘psychotherapy’, is a means of treating psychological or emotional problems through verbal and non-verbal communication.

Talk-therapy is done with the immediate goal of helping the person increase their self-knowledge and awareness of their relationship with others.

Talk-therapy assists people in becoming more conscious of their unconscious thoughts, feelings and motives.

Its long-term goal is to make it possible to replace destructive patterns of behaviour with healthier, more successful ones.

There are many different forms of talk-therapy including counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy and family therapy.
